Mark Bosshard is of counsel to Carnelutti Studio Legale Associato. He is a member of the firm's IP department, where his practice focuses on intellectual property, Information technology, competition and advertising.
In particular he provides assistance on issues relating to patent and know how law (chemical, pharmaceutical, biotech, mechanical, electronic and Information Technology); design protection and passing off; software and IT law. He conducts and manages IP and patent litigation before specialist Italian IP courts and the Supreme Court, IP litigation before the European Court of Justice/UE first instance Tribunals and is able to undertake patent litigation before the Unified Patent Court.
Mark began his professional career at the firm founded by Prof. Adriano Vanzetti where he worked for several years developing his expertise and later became specialist IP counsel for primary Patent Attorney firms and law firms.
Mark (has been and) is teaching at several Italian and overseas universities. He has taught International Trade Law and IP law at Università di Parma. He is currently teaching IP law in the Law School and in the Post Graduate Specialization Course for Legal Professions at the Catholic University of Milan. He is a member of the panel of professors of the Intellectual Property LLM programme hosted by the WIPO Academy in Turin. Mark has also taught Intellectual Property Law as visiting professor in several Latin American and Caribbean Universities and is a member of the board of editors of several intellectual property law reviews such as "Giurisprudenza Annotata di Diritto Industriale" and “AIDA”.
Mark obtained his J.D. cum laude from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan. After graduation he obtained a Ph. D in intellectual property law from the Università di Pavia. He was admitted to the Italian Bar in 1999, and has rights of audience/representation before the Italian High Court.
He is fluent in English and Spanish, in addition to his native Italian.
