Alessandra Pandarese is of counsel at the law firm Carnelutti studio legale associato. Her professional background is mainly focused on commercial and company law, sports law, IP law as well as on private international law and EU law.
Prior to joining the firm, in 1988 she joined her family's law firm where she advised international insurance companies and banks in commercial, litigation, bankruptcy and labour issues. Alessandra Pandarese worked in Brussels (at an international law firm and at the Directorate General for Competition at the European Commission), where she acquired experience in EU competition, international private law and business training. She has also spent periods working abroad (USA, New Zealand and Spain).
Alessandra Pandarese is very well known for her expertise in all legal matters concerning sports law and organization of sports events, which includes contractual matters in the nautical sector, athletes' and teams' contracts, sponsorship and merchandising agreements, broadcasting rights, licensing, brand protection, sports regulation and sports litigation. She has developed a strong experience in the area of international sailing competitions by taking part and playing different roles for 18 years in the America's Cup. Alessandra Pandarese has been Legal Counsel for different Italian Challengers in the 1989-1992, 1997-2000, 2000-2003 and 2005-2007 America's Cup races. She was also appointed Secretary General of the Challenger Organization in 2000-2003, and elected Chairman of the Challenger Commission in 2005-2007. She advises and is Board Member of the World Sailing Team Association Group, organizer of the Louis Vuitton Trophy (2009 to date). She was designated representative of the Challenger of Record for the 34th America's Cup for Club Nautico di Roma / Mascalzone Latino (2010 to date).
She has also been an active member of the "Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats" (AIJA), and a member of AIJA's Executive Commitee. Alessandra Pandarese is the author of several publications and a regular speaker at national and international conferences on sports law, specifically on broadcasting rights, sponsorship agreements and sports law contracts. She is a regular speaker at the University of Milan and the LIUC University, where she holds seminars on sports law issues.
She was admitted to the Italian Bar in 1991 and is qualified to plead before the Italian High Courts.
