Gianluigi Esposito is the managing partner at AEM Carnelutti. Gianluigi’s practice concentrates primarily in mergers and acquisitions, real estate acquisitions and other corporate matters. Prior to joining AEM Carnelutti, Gianluigi formed Altieri Esposito & Minoli PLLC in 2007. In 2003 Gianluigi opened the New York office of Chiomenti Studio Legale, one of Italy’s premier corporate law firms, in collaboration with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, Chiomenti’s alliance partner. Gianluigi’s experience includes work on a variety of cross-border merger and acquisition transactions. Gianluigi regularly provides corporate and international legal advice to domestic and foreign-based clients operating in the United States, and Italian law advice to Fortune 500 companies transacting business abroad. Gianluigi regularly assists several major European fashion companies and has considerable experience in helping European and International fashion brands establish operations in the US. He lectured at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland and at the University of Bologna, Italy. Gianluigi graduated from the University of Bologna, Italy, School of Law, in 1991, Diploma di Laurea in Giurisprudenza (J.D. Equivalent). He earned his LL.M. degree in Common Law Studies, at Georgetown University Law Center, 1995 (Fulbright Scholar). He received the Fulbright Award for Global Business Diplomacy at the One to World Fulbright Awards Dinner held on May 22, 2013 at the Waldorf Astoria Grand Ballroom in New York City. He is a member of Georgetown University European Law Alumni Advisory Board, of the Fashion Law Committee of the New York City Bar and serves on the Board of Directors of the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce of New York. He was admitted to the Italian Bar in 1995, and he has been a member of the New York Bar since 2000. He is also a member of the New York City Bar Association. He speaks Italian, French and Spanish, in addition to English.
